About the roleWe have an exciting opportunity for a mechanic to be a part of the NSW Rural Fire Service in a supporting role. You will be instrumental in inspecting, servicing, overhauling and repairing mechanicalelectricalhydraulic systems, equipment and components on NSW Rural Fire Service vehicles to contribute to the reliability and availability of our fleet as well as providing technical and mechanical servicing to various equipment such as Chain Saws, Portable Pumps. The fleet is decentralised throughout NSW and comprises a variety of firefighting appliances and support vehicles including tippers, articulated vehicles, plant and trailers. One role is based at Glendenning and the other at Terrey Hills, but will include field work and occasional travel. Computer skills are required, as the successful candidate will use our asset management system for maintenance scheduling and recording along with tracking, monitoring and reporting your work with fleet and assets. Resolving complex mechanical issues and providing advice and solutions within short timeframes will be a key challenge.
