Our Geotechnical Engineering and Geosciences Group in Victoria has a great opportunity for a Technical Director level Hydrogeologist to join us in any of our Victorian Offices – Melbourne, Geelong, Mildura, Traralgon or Albury-Wodonga.You'll be part of our Groundwater Resources team, comprising 10 Hydrogeologists with a broad experience mix. The Groundwater Resources Team services internal and external clients to ensure the sustainable management of groundwater resources. We offer specialist technical advice and capability in:Assessing and analysing groundwater systemsDesigning and managing groundwater infrastructureFacilitating economic and social values of groundwater, while protecting its environmental valuesWe also support the related teams of Hydrogeologists within our Contamination Assessment and Remediation group and our Mining group. You'll have access to long-term and secure opportunities, and to wider professional development and multi-disciplinary opportunities offered by a leading global consultancy.Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of opportunities and will see you involved in:Supporting the delivery of projects for the planning and execution of hydrogeological investigations and assessments, including as Technical LeadProviding advice to our clients on groundwater resource management, policy, planning and protection, at both the state and commonwealth levelDesigning and directing desktop and field-based investigations, including for groundwater resource exploration, dewatering and environmental programmes, which at times are coordinated with related disciplines such as geotechnical, engineering geology, environmental, mining engineering and ecologySupporting civil infrastructure design and reviews for major infrastructure projectsSupporting, managing and directing the delivery of data analytics and technical reportingBusiness development strategy, including input to the business planning process, mapping out current and future client base and considering emerging market opportunitiesDemonstrating your industry knowledge and experience to develop and maintain strong client relationshipsPreparation, development and review of proposals and bids for projectsMentoring, capacity building and knowledge sharing across the Groundwater Resources teamWhat you will bring to the team:Relevant tertiary qualifications coupled with significant experience in Hydrogeology, ideally including within a consulting environment.Excellent communication skills including the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiencesA positive, collaborative and forward-thinking mindset, focused on knowledge sharing and capacity buildingTechnical skills in groundwater resource investigations, hydrogeological conceptualisation, groundwater impact assessments and resource evaluationFamiliarity and experience with Victoria's groundwater framework, regulations and policy would be idealTechnical skills in geochemistryFamiliarity with spatial data analysis techniques and analytical modelling techniquesAn ability to characterise a groundwater setting conceptually and identify risks and data gaps as they relate to specific developmentsAn understanding of or experience in numerical model development, including data collation, processing and interpretation, realistic conceptualisation, model construction, calibration and operationExperience in supporting key aspects of project management and administrationDemonstrated proficiency in report writingInterested?
