This position is located at Ryde Hospital.
What you'll be doingThe Ryde Acute Team Leader will provide leadership, management and accountability for staff within the portfolio and will ensure clinical practice is consistent and in accordance with evidenced based practice. The incumbent will play a central role in the operational management of acute mental health service delivery including the Ryde Acute Mental Health Team (RAMHT) and the EIS, and ensure timely, appropriate and flexible high quality care is provided. The incumbent will liaise closely with the Manager Acute CMHS to ensure seamless integration and coordination of day to day services and provide appropriate advice and support as required. The RAMHT leader will work Monday to Friday from 8.00am – 4:30pm and carry a clinical caseload. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.Relevant qualification in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Nursing, with current AHPRA registration. For Social Work, eligibility for membership with AASW. For Psychology, registration as a Psychologist with Masters degree or higher in Clinical Psychology (or other recognised clinical area in psychology as deemed relevant by the employer). In addition Postgraduate qualifications must be no less than 2years full time duration (or part time equivalent) and include professional clinical coursework, clinical training and supervised placement experience as core components. For Nursing – a Division 1 Registered Nurse with at least 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in a mental health field and approved post registration nursing qualifications within a mental health discipline or other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.Proven recent experience in a mental health leadership role and management of a multidisciplinary team.Proven clinical experience within an acute community mental health team with the ability to provide expertise and supervision in clinical issues ie assessment, crisis intervention, suicide risk management and case management practices.Demonstrated advanced written and verbal communication skills and advanced computer skills (specifically Microsoft Office suite). Current NSW Drivers LicenceProven organisational skills and ability to manage change in a positive manner, with excellent negotiation skills and the ability to deal with conflict situations.Demonstrated experience in performing novel, complex and critical discipline specific (social work, occupational therapy, psychology or nursing) clinical work including a high level of professional knowledge and ability to exercise substantial professional judgement.Knowledge of the National Mental Health Standards and Accreditation process with demonstrated commitment to consumer involvement.
