This role involves leading a team responsible for the safety, security, and maintenance of our fleet, warehouse, and school grounds.

BrisbaneSDE upholds the vision of the Proud at Work workforce strategy and believes the school should be an environment where staff and students feel safe, supported and valued for who they are.About The RoleThe Team Leader Facilities AO5 leads a team of 13 staff that manages various functions for the whole school including the cleaning and grounds functions, the print ordering, storing and despatching of student resources, mail service, school security, fleet management and leads the Workplace Health and Safety functions for the whole school, provide advice and support to the Business Manager and School executive.
This position will work closely with the Business Manager to ensure the functions as described are managed effectively for this large site.
In addition, this school co-habits with Coorparoo secondary College and this role liaises regularly with the Business Manager from SCS to discuss whole of site repairs and issues.
Some of the specific and unique functions of this role are:Leads the Workplace Health and safety committeeManages the school fleet of 3 vehicles eg repairs, log books and booking systemManges multiple large budgets relevant to a school of distance education eg; Postage and PrintChecking time sheets each fortnight and managing the annual training and performance plan of the teamLiaise with tradespeople on a daily basis- organise WAAPs and other required documentsProvide critical support and advice to the Business ManagerOther duties as directedThe role directly supports the Business Manager and School Executive and provides advice to all school staff on issues of Workplace Health and Safety.Staff are able to commence as early as 6.30am.
