Team leader/Assistant Manager
Full-time TemporaryDetails: The Community, Industry and Traders Licensing Team manages licensing and registrations for several industries across the ACT, including security, real estate, incorporated associations, controlled sports and much more. This broad subset of responsibilities means working with individuals and businesses alike, whether they're seeking event approvals, occupational licences, and anything in between.
The Liquor and Gaming Licensing Team processes a wide variety of applications too – covering liquor licences and permits for restaurants, bars, and nightclubs, to gaming machine authorisations and occupational licences in the gaming space, and much more. The team is also responsible for the administration of public unleased land permits, tobacco licences, and other licensing schemes.
The successful applicant for either team will be responsible for leading and managing on a day-to-day basis. You'll operate as the senior officer within the team and take charge of navigating complex outcomes, working closely with your Assistant Director. If you're able to weigh up competing needs when making a decision, approach an issue from varied perspectives, think critically and decisively, all while turning outcomes into learning opportunities to mentor your team – then we're keen to hear from you.
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disabilities, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes, and sexualities to apply.
