We have a strong sense of community and a commitment to providing an education that addresses the academic, artistic, social, physical, and emotional development of all the children at our school.Westfield Park PS is seeking a Teacher - Student Learning Program (SLP) - ASD to support students with ASD to access mainstream education. The successful applicant should adopt evidence-based practice and pedagogy to meet the needs of students with ASD, without a diagnosed intellectual disability. Knowledge of, and ability to apply Western Australian curriculum is advantageous. You will have the opportunity to be part of the primary school staff and may, over time, move between the specific role within the Specialist Learning Program for Students with ASD and mainstream class roles.In collaboration with the Program Coordinator (Autism), teachers provide innovative and engaging classes for our students and contribute to their sense of belonging and overall wellbeing in mainstream public primary schools. Teachers of this program will ideally develop highly personalised learning plans to facilitate access to age-appropriate curriculum.
