Salary Range: Commensurate with experience - $84,077 (Graduate) - $123,101 (EPT) FTE gross per annum

Holy Cross School, Trinity Park Formally opened in 1987, Holy Cross School is an integral component of the Northern Beaches Parish of Cairns. The Holy Cross School Charism - RELATIONSHIPS, COMMUNITY, SERVICE and STEWARDSHIP - referred to as ' The Holy Cross Way ', is embedded in all facets of school life, and lived, modelled, and articulated by every member of the school community.

Grounded in a reputation of innovation, Holy Cross School introduced internationally acclaimed Walker Learning in 2017. An Australian based total and holistic pedagogy, Walker Learning is an intentional teaching and learning approach for primary aged children. A team of Specialist staff (Teacher Librarian, HPE Teacher, Music Dance and Drama Teacher, STEM Teacher, Enrichment Teacher, Indigenous Liaison Officer, Accredited Dyslexia Teacher and three Inclusion Support Teachers) ensure multiple opportunities are readily available to guarantee every student finds their 'spark' prior to graduation in Year 6, enabling them to be the best version of themselves into High School and beyond.

Purpose of the Role At Holy Cross School, student diversity is valued, and inclusive practices are fundamental to the ethos of Catholic schools. The Teacher (Inclusion – Students with Disabilities) works within whole-school initiatives to address the diverse needs of students through a culture of inclusiveness, focusing on the holistic growth and development of each student. The Teacher (Inclusion – Students with Disabilities) (LST) contributes to the quality of educational outcomes of the Catholic school by providing effective assistance to teachers in supporting students with diverse learning needs.

The Teacher (Inclusion – Students with Disabilities) works closely with teachers to plan and implement teaching strategies and programs that identify and respond to the individual needs of students. The Teacher (Inclusion – Students with Disabilities) communicates with parents as key partners in the educational outcomes of students. The Teacher (Inclusion – Students with Disabilities) also liaises with visiting specialists, including Therapists and Inclusive Education Teachers to support student learning.

The Teacher (Inclusion – Students with Disabilities) reports to the Principal or delegate, as line manager. The Teacher (Inclusion – Students with Disabilities) works in consultation with, and direction from the Principal who will oversee the role and responsibilities of the Teacher (Inclusion – Students with Disabilities).

The Teacher (Inclusion – Students with Disabilities) is supported by Catholic Education - Diocese of Cairns (CEDC) to enhance school capacity in learning support. The Teacher (Inclusion – Students with Disabilities) is expected to attend regular Professional Development sessions provided by CEDC and continue to develop their own skills in the learning support area.
