Job Opportunity: Jiu Jitsu Coach at The Academy of Grounding
Are you an elite Jiu Jitsu practitioner with a black belt and extensive competition experience?
The Academy of Grounding, located in West End, is seeking a highly skilled and passionate coach to join our team. We're looking for someone with proven expertise and a commitment to developing the next generation of athletes.
Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 per annum (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities:

Lead dynamic classes for both adults and kids, focusing on technical skill and discipline.
Develop and execute competition training programs for athletes of all levels.
Foster a positive and motivating environment, nurturing students' growth in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ).
Accompany and coach students during national and international competitions.
Oversee compliance with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu rules and regulations during competitions.
Recruit, mentor, and support fighters while collaborating with other coaching staff.
Promote skills development and manage young athletes' participation in BJJ.
Liaise with officials and enforce adherence to sport regulations.

Qualifications:

Black belt rank in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Significant competitive experience in both local and international tournaments.
Active participation in competitions, with a track record of success.
Valid blue card.
Ability to speak Portuguese (desirable for communication with students and officials).
Highly specialised knowledge in BJJ coaching, with additional judo skills being an advantage.
Strong communication and management skills for effective instruction and athlete development.
Must be an active member of the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) and the Australian Federation of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (AFBJJ), or willingness to become a member.

Additional Responsibilities:

Plan and direct fight strategies and analyse athlete performance for continuous improvement.
Assist in planning and developing competition and training plans tailored to each athlete's needs.
Collaborate with The Academy of Grounding on athlete development, injury prevention, and competition preparation.
Mentor athletes in preparation for State, National and international competitions, including the World Jiu Jitsu Championships in the United States and other international events.
