Appointment Pool

Geographe Education Support Centre (ESC) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Education Support Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2022.

Applicants with relevant qualifications and/or a significant amount of experience working in education support schools or centres will be highly regarded.Suitable applicants will be required to work as either a general classroom teacher or in a support role. We are looking for applicants who are keen to be a part of an established team, who are prepared to teach our whole school programs, with strong behaviour management skills.

Suitable applicants with experience working with a wide range of students and a wide range of disabilities will be highly regarded. We are also looking for teachers who have experience working with a large group of support staff in their classroom. It takes skill to manage adults as well as the students in the classroom. We want staff who are interested in engaging the parents of our students in all aspects of their child's learning. We work closely with our parents as partners. We need teachers who are excellent communicators.

Geographe ESC is a purpose built Kindergarten - 12 Public School co-located with Geographe Primary School and Busselton Senior High School Campuses. The school caters for students with a range of physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities and Autism. Students enrolled in the Centre enjoy both the staff support and specialist classrooms, and an inclusive school education. The Centre is an award winning Level 4 Education Support Centre an average enrolment of 46 students annually, supported by over 35 full time equivalent staff. Enrolment in the Centre is dependent on the Department of Education's Framework of Eligibility for Enrolment.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to :

TRAINING

Employees will be required to :

complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
