About the teamThe EnergyAustralia Direct Tax Team provides effective and commercially astute taxation advice to key stakeholders across the business and is primarily responsible for the tax strategy and tax risk management of the business, which includes ensuring all direct tax compliance obligations are met.

We are a small, collaborative and high performing tax team that values the contribution of each team member and drives continuous improvement through learning and development.

About the roleReporting to the Direct Tax Leader, in this hands-on role you work alongside the Direct Tax Advisor and the core Finance team to lead the delivery of the annual tax compliance and tax reporting obligations.

Your responsibilities will includePrepare and manage the annual Income Tax Return process and related direct tax compliance obligations;
Prepare tax effect accountings calculations, schedules, journals and reconciliations for monthly reporting and for statutory reporting purposes;
Participate in projects and undertake taxation research as required;
Participate in the upgrade to tax return software CCH Global Integrator and roll out of SAP S4 Hana ERP system;
Assist with tax authority requests and audits;
Assist with R&D claims and other grants, tax credits or incentives;
Identify and implement tax process improvement opportunities;

About youCA/CPA qualified with experience in Australian corporate tax compliance, ideally gained from a leading accounting firm or large corporate
Experience in the preparation of tax effect accounting and tax reporting for statutory purposes
Experience with CCH Global Tax Integrator and SAP, an advantage
Positive, can do attitude with a natural skill for developing strong relationships with the team and stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple and conflicting deadlines and deliver outcomes to stakeholders that are accurate, timely and of a high quality
