In Australia, we operate two open cut and three underground Steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, every year producing millions of tonnes of the highest quality hard coking coal for this purpose.Job DescriptionWe currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Communications Technician to join our team at Capcoal – Lake Lindsay in Middlemount QLD.Reporting to the Service Delivery Coordinator, you will be responsible for undertaking preventative maintenance and technical field support for the mine sites technology systems.As a trusted member of the team, your responsibilities will include:Assist in the ongoing installation & maintenance of communication systems across the mine site and ensure their day-to-day availabilityAct as a Subject Matter Expert to resolve priority issuesFoster collaborative relationships with team members and stakeholders across the siteRespond to business-critical events as requiredParticipate in safety processes as required including root cause analysis, risk assessments, and SOP reviewsTravel across site to respond to tasks as requiredQualificationsThe key attributes contributing to your success in this role will include:Certificate III in telecommunicationsAustel Licence with open endorsements in:Structured CablingCoaxialAerialStrong interpersonal and negotiation skills to influence and achieve buy in from key stakeholders.Ability to be adaptable in changing situations and able to step through the issue using your strong problem-solving skills.Experience with the following communications technologies:Modular Mining systemsCambium PTMP Network access points & linksP25 Digital two-way radio communication equipment (towers, repeaters)Omnitronics Systems AltoAlto Off grid Solar charging systems including remote backup system, interrogation and fault finding.Hexagon CAS systems on light and heavy vehicles, programming and fault finding.Level 9 Hexagon CAS on heavy vehicles, programming and fault finding.
