About the role
This position plays a key role in maintaining and developing the systems that APRA relies upon to carry out their functions.
Reporting and Relationships:
This role reports to Lead, Systems Accounting.
Responsibilities:
Assist with testing of all new system development.
Be the bridge between Finance and the rest of the company.
Development of Excel-based solutions for reconciliation and other accounting functions.
Identify areas that could benefit from systems development.
Assist with technically complex accounting support issues as assigned and as time permits.
Maintain a knowledge of APRA reporting requirements, especially the upcoming releases of new forms.
Assist and run meetings with Finance staff to find issues, discuss and promote everything Finance/systems/technology.
Assist in designing and building systems to gather data for accounting purposes.
Training team members and stakeholders.
Systems/Applications Knowledge and Experience:
Solvexia (APRA Reporting)
Microsoft Business Central (Accounting software)
Excel
Acurity (especially the General Ledger side of it)
Interfaces between systems – general ETSL concepts and tools
SQL
General Knowledge/experience:
Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards & Accounting Principles.
Understanding of IT practices and development methodologies.
Knowledge of Financial Control systems.
Ability to investigate complex issues given general parameters.
Knowledge of Industry Superannuation accounting/processes and other related practices, record keeping procedures, and systems.
Demonstrated achievement of customer service/performance targets.
