The OpportunityAs a Systems Engineer, you will contribute to enhancing the effectiveness and capabilities of combat systems, ensuring they operate with precision and reliability in defence operations.
Our Systems Engineers directly contribute to the design, development, sustainment and maintenance of our Combat Management System (CMS) through diligent software and systems engineering processes, taking part in the delivery of multi-partnered projects, whilst collaborating with subject matter experts, delivering high-level technical expertise on development and design decisions.
SAAB Systems engineers apply systems thinking, engineering and research throughout the project life cycle to deliver the outcomes of the project, liaising with customers, production teams, and support teams to come up with solutions/troubleshooting, produce engineering design reviews for software disciplines and support Product Managers with technical inputs to product road maps and new product initiatives.
What you need to succeed:We welcome candidates with skills and experience in systems engineering, including but not limited to:
Australian Citizenship, with the ability to obtain and retain an NV1/ NV2 clearanceBetween 5 – 10 years post-graduate experience in software design/development with at least 2 years focussed on Systems EngineeringTertiary qualifications in either Electronics, Electrical, mechatronics, Robotics or Software EngineeringStrong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to work across multi-partnered programsSound knowledge of System/Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)Background in software development and product designPositions based in Melbourne; candidates with out-of-state applications will need to be willing to relocate, as FIFO options are not available for these roles.Experience or backgrounds in cyber security or complex defence systems are highly desirableCulture and benefitsWe employ over 1000 Australians and are committed to fostering a culture of excellence and enriching the employee experience.
