Positions in this opportunity are for talented educators with a passion for, and demonstrated excellence in, educational practice and innovation, and research capability (in disciplinary and/or education-related research). This newly-recruited group of educators will support an uplift in the teaching capability and student experience at the University of Sydney, while also developing as leaders in the education space at the University. Successful candidates will be expected to dedicate most of their contribution to teaching and teaching-related activities (70%), while also engaging in research (20%) and governance, leadership, and engagement (10%). Successful appointees support, coordinate, and teach undergraduate and postgraduate coursework Units of Study. Laboratory, tutorial, studio class deliveries, and workshop management and teaching may also be a key part of the roles. They will lead Faculty efforts to focus attention on the respective areas mentioned in the role titles by improving upon existing strategies and practices and starting new initiatives. In brief, collaborative learning refers to teaching delivery that relies heavily on student participation in group activities; AI in education refers to the disruptive influence of generative artificial intelligence on many aspects of education, including but not limited to assessments and study resources; professional engagement refers to the contribution of non-academic stakeholders such as industry and government to the educational activities of the university. Teaching and coordination of new and existing units of study will be expected, whether in direct relation to the role titles or otherwise, as long as the subject matter aligns with the candidates' expertise. School of Computer Science - Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Computer Science (Education Focused) Level B/C (4 positions) The successful candidates will demonstrate passion for preparing students for their future careers and the strongest commitment to improving the student experience, through teaching and educational leadership in units of study and courses administered by the School of Computer Science (CS). Enrolments in CS units of study and courses are generally very healthy and successful candidates must be prepared to handle this and to undertake continual training and review to uplift their large unit teaching skills. Teaching and coordination of new and existing units of study will be expected. A proven track record of scholarship and publication associated with computer science education, or related areas, is required. School of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering - Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Environmental and Chemical Engineering (Education Focused) Level B/C We seek a distinguished academic to join our newly introduced environmental engineering degree while enriching our established chemical engineering courses. We are seeking a versatile individual capable of bringing interdisciplinary approaches to train competent graduates to work across these disciplines in developing sustainable engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in environmental conservation topics such as water resource management, air pollution, waste management, and environmental monitoring and pollution control, climate change mitigation, and resource recovery. Proficiency in recycling, upcycling, down cycling and circular economy principles and practices, and environmental policies and standards is highly desirable, along with a comprehensive background in chemical engineering or closely related disciplines. The successful applicant will be involved in adopting innovation in curriculum design and delivering learner-centric teaching practices to achieve outstanding student educational experience.
