RoleProvide advice to senior staff members and key external stakeholders on environmental issues that may impact on key operational and strategic decisions.
Position Outcomes / AccountabilitiesApply competent project management expertise to establish and apply detailed scope and cost controls to assigned operations.Provide sound advice to senior staff members and key external stakeholders on environmental issues that may impact on key operational and strategic decisions.Negotiate with, influence, develop and maintain effective liaison and relationships with DTP staff, contractors, stakeholders, and the public by leading programs to develop staff awareness and application of customer service standards, guidelines, and strategies.Effectively manage, motivate, and develop employees by identifying capability development needs and providing appropriately challenging targets that encourage improved operational efficiency and effectiveness on an ongoing basis.Exercise professional judgement in the development, delivery, monitoring, and review of complex environmental investigations and associated legislative requirements as they relate to regional operations.Apply competence in monitoring workplace safety in accordance with DTP safety management system and ensure operations are delivered in accordance with current OH&S legislation, whilst managing and minimising environmental impacts effectively.Key Selection CriteriaTo be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must have expertise in environmental management, ensuring compliance with regulations and implementing sustainable practices. They should excel in critical thinking, problem-solving, and project delivery, effectively coordinating tasks, collaborating with stakeholders, and making informed decisions. Additionally, strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to develop and enhance team capabilities through coaching and feedback.
Personal AttributesOn a personal level, the candidate will demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, quickly responding to changes and comfortably collaborating with teams outside their organization. They will foster a supportive team environment, sharing information and assisting others in challenging situations.
Qualifications and ExperienceMandatory
A relevant tertiary qualification in an environmental discipline or other relevant tertiary qualification with a minimum 3+ years' experience in an environmental field.
Australian driver's License
Desirable
Project management experience
Experience in writing consultant briefs and reviewing environmental reports and documents
Experience working in the road construction industry.
