Churches of Christ, Children, Youth and Families, Hervey Bay & Maryborough – Fraser Coast Region 12-month Fixed Term, Full-time Opportunity About The RoleAs the Support Practitioner, you will be reporting to the Team Leader and will be responsible for monitoring the quality of care being provided to children and young people living in family-based placements.
This position will require travel dependant on business needs.
Assessing and evaluating prospective foster familiesMatching children with suitable foster familiesProviding support and guidance to foster familiesMonitoring and evaluating placementsOther ResponsibilitiesNo two days will be the same in this diverse role; however, your day-to-day responsibilities can include:
Providing support to Hervey Bay & Maryborough (Fraser Coast Region) Foster and Kinship Carers including developing support plans, education and training, and awareness of intervention services;Providing ongoing monitoring of placements with Foster and Kinship Carers including the transition of children and young people entering or exiting from placements;Developing and implementing the recruitment of Foster Carers including carer training.Occasional work outside of hours to meet the needs of service users.The role is 76 hours a fortnight, Monday-Friday, with one paid PDO a fortnight.Experience in child protection highly regarded.About YouYou are passionate about the welfare of children and young people, achieving the absolute best outcomes for them.

QualificationsTo be suitable for this position, your qualifications for the role will consist of:
Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or a related discipline;Applied knowledge and understanding of child protection and out-of-home care frameworks;Demonstrated experience in providing training and a range of supports including positive behaviour support, crisis management and self-care strategies;Current driver's license;Possess or have the ability to acquire a National Police Check, Working with Children (Blue Card), Licensed Care Service (Child Protection).Importantly, you will be someone who closely aligns with our organisational values of: Unconditional Love, Continual Innovation, Mutual Trust, Wise Stewardship and Safety.
