You will oversee a strong and cohesive team on a major defence project.Our client is in search of a proficient Supervisor to become part of their Defence Solutions or Infrastructure department. What you'll do: As a Supervisor in our client's Defence Solutions department, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and managing field staff within your designated work area. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards. You will also be tasked with implementing the 'Zero Harm' values, policies, accountabilities, plans and targets. In addition to these responsibilities, you will maintain personal contact with the customer base to understand their needs and issues.Directly guide and manage field staff within the designated work area.Ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards.Implement the 'Zero Harm' values, policies, accountabilities, plans and targets.Maintain personal contact with customer base to understand needs and issues.Oversee project workloads to ensure activities are delivered profitably on time and comply with contractual requirements.Develop a strong consultative team culture that accepts change initiatives.Ensure project team compliance with customer contract conditions and scope of works.Monitor and record all causes of delays by client or other sub-contractors.Control and drive the operational activities of projects to ensure maximum efficiency in terms of output, quality, costs, safety and profits within the plans and budgets. What you bring: The ideal candidate for the Supervisor role will bring a wealth of experience and skills to the table. You should have tertiary qualifications in construction management or engineering or a related discipline. You should also have managed a team of project managers, engineers, crew and sub-contractors in the construction industry for 10+ years. Experience in technical processes such as painting that has specific technical application standards is essential. Additionally, you should have significant experience in managing complex shut-down works to tight time frames. Your ability to increase the customer base through excellent customer service will be crucial to your success in this role.Tertiary qualifications in construction management or engineering or a related discipline.Managed a team of project managers, engineers, crew and sub-contractors in the construction industry for 10+ years.Experienced in technical processes e.g., painting that has specific technical application standards.Significant experience in managing complex shut-down works to tight time frames is an advantage.Increase customer base through excellent customer service.Undertaken continual Project Management Training.Analysis of data to develop appropriate actions.Proficient in effectively managing project forecasts and budget.Worked in organisations that promote a culture of coaching for improved performance.Manage the relationship with the customer so win/win outcomes are achieved.NACE CIP Level 2.
