Based within the Allied Health Services portfolio Marymead CatholicCare is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Case Manager for our youth residential program – STEPS: Supporting young people (13-18 years of age) Through Early intervention and Prevention Strategies.

Marymead CatholicCare and Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) ACT work in partnership to deliver the STEPS program. The STEPS Program provides 24-hour residential support to young people aged 13 to 18 years who experience moderate to severe mental health distress. The program is a step up/step down model working within a case management framework to assist young people to identify recovery goals and work towards these with their CAMHS clinician and other supports, including family. The program assists young people across the ACT.

The STEPS Youth Case Manager provides quality Case Management which is client-focused and strength-based. The aim of this role is to build resilience and coping strategies in dealing with mental health issues through early intervention, collaborative engagement, service coordination, information/education, short-term therapeutic interventions, referral, and advocacy.

This position requires effective time management, stakeholder engagement, and administration skills. You will be required to work with minimal supervision, as well as work effectively within a large team. Ideal person The ideal person we are looking for has:

Tertiary qualification(s) in a related field, i.e., Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, etc. The minimum qualification requirements are Diploma level in a related field and/or at least 3 years' experience in working with complex young people and/or families. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, organisational time management skills. Ability to respond appropriately to crisis situations and to clients presenting with complex issues. Hold a current driver's license, a current Working with Vulnerable People card, and be willing to undergo a police check. Competent in the use of Information Technology. You will also be required to undergo a National Police Check.
