Your Opportunity:  As a Station Assistant, you will join a team of up to seven to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation at Townsville Station.
You will be responsible providing exceptional customer service, completing general cleaning duties and contributing to a positive and safe environment.
Role / Hours: This is a permanent full-time position which generally works between the hours of 0630 and 1630.
You can expect to work on a rotating roster which will consist of a variety of start and finish times as well as weekends and public holidays.
About the Role:  •    Assist with platform operations and announcements •    Provide exceptional customer service which will include handling of customer luggage •    Operate station equipment and machinery  •    Assist with provisioning and deprovisioning of food and supplies on the trains •    General cleaning and maintenance duties of the station and bathroom facilities  •    Report safety concerns to the onsite supervisor  For full position responsibilities please read this Position Description.
About You:  •    Excellent customer service skills •    Ability to work in a team and independently  •    Effective communication and interpersonal skills •    Strong work ethic and willingness to go the 'extra mile' •    A safety conscious attitude  •    Ability to undertake a variety of manual handling tasks including cleaning and lifting of heavy luggage up to 20 kilograms •    Previous cleaning experience or a 'C' class drivers licence is desirable but not essential  •    Be prepared to travel within your position when required (e.g.
