Applications are welcomed from those expecting Fellowship with ANZCA within the next 6 months, and the hospital is interested in receiving applications from FANZCAs with a strong interest in clinical education, pain medicine (especially FAFPM), or ICU (FCICM).
The Anaesthetist will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the Anaesthetics Service.
The Anaesthetist will ensure the provision of high-quality anaesthetic services to all patients within the local health district.
The Anaesthetist will proactively:
Support the development of anaesthetic servicesSupport and facilitate a culture of learning and best practiceSupport and develop anaesthesia research within the departmentClinical duties include: Provide an accountable and high-standard service consistent with the defined scope of clinical practice for Local Health Service and all NSW Health Policies.Demonstrate ability to work as a team member within the Department and the broader multidisciplinary team.Ensure detailed patient treatment plans are in place to support the timely management of patients and effective clinical handover processes.Maintain a high standard of clinical record documentation, including the completion of all clinical records to reflect clinical decisions.Participate fully in the on-call roster as required by the facility.Participate actively in research activities in the Department.Adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary standards.The Local Health District: It provides services to an entire region, encompassing a population of approximately 351,000.
The Hospital has the capacity to treat complex and specialist cases and provides all medical specialties, including 24/7 cardiac intervention, aged care, paediatrics, and all surgical specialties except cardio-thoracic surgery. The emergency department is one of the busiest in New South Wales, with around 50,000 case presentations annually.
The Hospital is the principal teaching hospital for the University Graduate School of Medicine and School of Nursing and Midwifery and is closely affiliated with the Health and Medical Research Institute, providing research opportunities to address regional health issues.
