How will I help?You are part of a team that is at the forefront of change, helping us simplify and modernise our technology platforms. Your key responsibilities will define and bring to life our architecture roadmaps which will help plan and guide our technology investment as well as ensuring projects deliver change within risk appetite and aligned to domain roadmaps, standards and policies.
You will collaborate with business owners and stakeholders to understand their priorities, value drivers and needs. You'll take business direction into the architecture and design. This will require balancing the architectural concerns of the projects whilst identifying repeatable design patterns and guardrails. You will be called upon to influence and ensure buy-in from the development teams so that the detailed design of the solution aligns with the higher-level architectures.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Help with the development and execution of a domain roadmap for Business Banking architecture.
Engage, inform, influence and negotiate with stakeholders to ensure stakeholders remain engaged and committed to the right outcomes.
Work with the team to be "ahead of the curve" to remove any obstacles for future work to deliver your projects.
Identify and analyse enterprise business drivers and the current IT environment to detect solution gaps and recommend solutions for improvement in areas of responsibility.
Provide solution architecture consulting on multiplatform IT environments and subject matter expert advice to project teams.
Ensure adherence to Enterprise methodologies and processes, such as the Solution Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) and Agile Execution Framework (AEF) methodologies and processes.
Direct the identification, resolution/mitigation, monitoring, reporting and escalation of risks and issues.
Peer review new and existing projects for adherence to architecture policies & standards and development of new architecture patterns.
Maintain and apply business lending architectural knowledge and investigate and recommend improvement opportunities to ensure Westpac remains innovative and up to date with market leading technologies and industry trends.
Recommend improvement opportunities within portfolio to drive continuous security improvement and ensure Westpac remains innovative and up to date with market leading technologies and industry trends.
Analyse technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise and domain architecture.
Support, coach and mentor the team where required.
Ensure issues, risks and dependencies are appropriately closed off and have no or minimal impact to projects.
What do I need?
T-shaped skillset with cross discipline exposure
Experience across multiple architecture domains, including the implementation of architecture in large organisations required to ensure balanced solutions
Proven results in delivering major business solutions into production within multiple project teams
Strong analytical and technical skills as well as excellent planning and organisational skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Applied knowledge of database platforms and cloud computing
Good understanding of design patterns and data modelling
Experience in designing of API's and microservices at enterprise level
