Solicitor - LO I - III - Advisings and Community Protection Join to apply for the Solicitor - LO I - III - Advisings and Community Protection role at NSW Department of Communities and Justice Position Details Principal location – Parramatta (Flexible working arrangements may be negotiated, subject to the Flexible Working Policy) Employment type – Ongoing, Full-time (35 hours/week), with a talent pool created for future vacancies Salary – Legal Officer – Grade I - III, Base Salary ($77,012 – $130,542) plus superannuation and annual leave loading Team and Department Advisings and Community Protection team – Department of Communities and Justice, Legal Your Role As a solicitor in the ACP team, you will provide legal advice and litigation support on various matters affecting the community, working collaboratively in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities Provide legal advice and support to the Attorney General, Ministers, and other stakeholders Manage proceedings related to sentences, convictions, royal prerogative of mercy, act of grace payments, and other statutory responsibilities Handle legal documents, manage litigation, undertake legal research, and provide legal advice Additional Duties Research and prepare legal advice Manage litigation before courts and tribunals Support law reform and legal reviews Develop policies and legal resources Contribute to website content and data reporting Stay updated with legal developments and maintain professional registration Candidate Requirements Legal qualifications and eligibility for a NSW Government practising certificate Ability to provide clear, accurate legal advice Strong written communication skills Ability to manage priorities with high professional standards Additional Checks Reference checks are required; other checks include National Criminal History Record and Working with Children clearance.
