Software Engineer

DHI Seaport is looking for an experienced Software Engineer for an immediate start. This position is a full-time ongoing role, working 38 hours per week based in Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast QLD.
The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and systems.
Your duties will broadly encompass the following:

Front End software development (React)
Maintaining, improving, and upgrading existing software projects
Improving codebase quality by identifying common patterns and issues in existing codebases and adopting improved up-to-date approaches and best practices
Contributing to and improving the library of core components used by the team of developers to build the majority of software applications
Developing and integrating automated quality assurance procedures and tests
Deploying software applications via automated Azure Pipelines
Maintaining and contributing to the documentation of new, existing, and legacy projects as well as component libraries
Working closely with other developers and managers within DHI Seaport and internationally within DHI Group
Improving existing projects and components UI and UX as well as adopting improved and recommended UI/UX guidelines in new projects

For this position, it is expected that you would possess the following qualifications/work experience:

Relevant bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
At least five years of experience in a similar role.
State Management Libraries: Experience with Redux, MobX, or Context API for managing application state.
TypeScript: Knowledge of TypeScript for adding static types to JavaScript applications.
UI/UX Design Tools: Familiarity with design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
GraphQL: Understanding of GraphQL and its use for querying APIs.
Cloud Platforms and CI/CD: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) tools.
