The Role: This is a Permanent Full Time position at 80 hours per fortnight within the Social Work department and the Complex Care Hub. As a core member of the multidisciplinary team you will be responsible for providing psychosocial assessments and interventions for families and children requiring care at the Royal Children's Hospital. This includes providing services to families experiencing a new diagnosis, chronic illness, trauma, family violence, bereavement, social issues impacting on the child's wellbeing and family functioning, parenting difficulties, psychological health issues, child behavioural issues and a broad range of social support issues.
What you'll achieve: Provide high quality, evidenced based clinical care to children and families presenting with a broad range of psychosocial needsEngage in quality improvement & evaluation projects to enhance existing Social Work & Allied Health services and materials provided to patients and familiesImprove multidisciplinary pathways for discharge and transition to appropriate servicesCreate partnerships with children, adolescents and familiesClassification for this position will range from Grade 1 Year 1 to Year 6 (SC11 - SC16) (base salary $67,849.60 - $82,539.60 per annum, plus superannuation)

About the Social Work Department and Complex Care Hub RCH Social Work is a growing team of 46.6 EFT and over 65 employees and is the largest Allied Health team at RCH. Social workers work in collaboration with Medical, Nursing and Allied Health staff across the hospital as well as provide community liaison to ensure delivery of great psychosocial care for patients and families. The Royal Children's Complex Care Hub is an interdisciplinary service established to lead and coordinate the health care experiences for complex patients and their families. Patients with complex needs frequently require multiple teams, advanced technology and medical equipment to support their care needs, both within the hospital and at home.
