ABOUT THE POSITION An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shift Operations & Maintenance Technician to join our Adelaide Operations Team in Outer Harbour reporting to the Adelaide Operations Manager.
You will be required to execute daily operations plans and support minor project works in line with Quantem's Safety Management System. This role will require you to ensure all terminal activities are carried out safely and efficiently, with a strong emphasis on compliance with company policies, especially those related to Health, Safety, and Environment. As part of the position, you will oversee contractors on-site, ensuring they adhere to the highest safety and operational standards. Please note, this role involves working under a 24/7 rotating roster to meet the needs of the business.
The position entails the following responsibilities: Ensure all terminal activities align with Quantem's safety, management systems, and operational procedures.Supervise contract staff and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.Oversee daily operations, including safety compliance, KPI monitoring, planning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.Develop and review operational procedures, conduct risk assessments, and ensure team competence through training.Maintain accurate records to meet legal, quality, and regulatory requirements.Lead and enforce safety policies, contributing to the Site Safety Committee.Manage operational and maintenance activities, coordinate contractors, and resolve technical issues.Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the team to meet productivity goals.Ensure necessary supplies and consumables are available for smooth operations.Provide support across other Quantem sites as needed, including Largs Bay.To be considered for the position, candidates are required to have the following experience and qualifications: Trade qualification in a Mechanical/Technical field and/or suitable work experience.Experience in working in a mechanical based environment, with involvement in process improvement.Working with documented Work Instructions and Procedures.Working knowledge of Dangerous Goods Act and Occupational Health & Safety legislation to conduct and participate in risk assessments and issuing of safe work and confined space entry permit.Must be able to obtain a MSIC licence (Police Check).Exposure to Fire Fighting and Emergency Management.Sound interpersonal, communication and English skills.Excellent record for reliability, attendance and a 'can do' attitude.WHATS IN IT FOR YOU Join Quantem for a rewarding career, where our Vision, Purpose, and Values guide us to strive to be an employer of choice in the bulk liquid storage industry.
