Budja Budja Aboriginal Cooperative – Halls Gap VICBudja Budja Aboriginal Co-Op is a community controlled Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health service. The Budja Budja Aboriginal Cooperative Ltd. was established by the CEO and Elder, Tim Chatfield, in 1999. Its aim is to deliver a range of cultural, medical, health and wellbeing services to both the local Indigenous and non-Indigenous community. Budja Budja is the Traditional Aboriginal name for Halls Gap. The Clinic is in the heart of the Gariwerd/Grampians National Park, in Country shared by Djab Wurrung and Jardwadjali Traditional Owner Groups. Budja Budja has also recently opened a second clinic in Ararat.About the OpportunityThe primary purpose of the SEWB Counsellor is to help support the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in their overall mental health and wellbeing, by providing high level of clinical consultations and therapeutic support, to young people, adults and families. You will contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive and integrated range of mental health, wellbeing and healing services appropriate to the needs of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Community. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide individual and group therapy and therapeutic programs to clients, aligned with the SEWB model of wellbeing.About YouYou will be someone with counselling experience who is highly driven and willing to make a difference within the community. You will hold a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or other relevant discipline and have 3 years experience working in a therapeutic role. You may have some experience working within social and emotional wellbeing frameworks and teams.
