Lead the analysis and modelling of data related to VPP operations.
D'Arcy Weil is representing a leading energy solutions provider known for its innovation in Virtual Power Plant (VPP) technology and distributed energy resources. Our client is at the forefront of integrating renewable energy solutions into the grid, creating a sustainable and resilient energy infrastructure. They are seeking an experienced Senior VPP Data Scientist to join their team and play a pivotal role in leveraging data to enhance VPP performance and strategy.
The successful candidate will lead the analysis and modelling of data related to VPP operations, providing valuable insights that drive optimisation and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement advanced data models to optimise VPP operations and performance. Analyse large datasets from various sources, including energy generation, consumption, and market data. Create predictive models and algorithms to enhance the efficiency and reliability of VPP systems. Collaborate with engineering and operational teams to integrate data-driven insights into VPP strategies. Monitor and evaluate the performance of VPP assets, providing actionable recommendations for improvement. Develop and maintain dashboards and visualisation tools to present data insights effectively. Conduct statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in VPP data. Support decision-making processes by providing data-driven insights and forecasts. Engage with stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure data solutions meet their needs. Stay updated on industry developments and emerging technologies related to data science and VPPs. Lead data science projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic goals. Mentor and guide junior data scientists and analysts within the team. Collaborate on the development of new VPP products and services based on data insights. Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous validation and verification processes. Develop and document methodologies and best practices for data analysis and modelling.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Proven expertise in data modelling, statistical analysis, and machine learning. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar, and data analysis tools. Strong understanding of energy markets, particularly in the context of VPPs and distributed energy resources. Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with complex datasets. Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into business insights. Proven track record of leading data science projects and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and big data technologies is desirable.
