About the role This role offers exposure to a diverse range of challenging projects, exciting technologies, and the opportunity to work with many talented people in a growing company. This role requires someone with knowledge and experience in testing a wide variety of products developed using a collection of technologies.
It will also require excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prioritise and complete work under occasional pressure due to deadlines or customer requests. This includes both on-prem and cloud software developed primarily using a Microsoft tech stack.
You must have held a senior role in this capacity and have experience in mentoring and supporting juniors to be considered for this opportunity.
Duties & Responsibilities Test and break things Create and execute test cases for complex use cases Prioritise and track defects and other artifacts using JIRA and TestRail Provide clear and concise defect reporting Liaise with the product development team and business analysts to understand new product requirements Manage test cases with requirements traceability Prepare and maintain test data including the use of data mining techniques to extract relevant data for test cases Identify and escalate (where appropriate) testing risks, impediments and issues Take responsibility for testing of major changes in functionality Function and contribute to Agile practices to support continuous improvement in a self-managed team Identify process improvements across systems to improve operations and performance Function as the 'custodian of all things quality' for all products Testing of software deployments on customer sites Compile and maintain test and other related documentation Conduct training with internal and external customers Assist the operations team with technical 3rd level support when required Skills and experience At least 5 years current experience in software testing Detailed knowledge of test methodologies and execution concepts Experience with different types of testing including System, Integration, Functional, UAT and Regression testing Working knowledge on Postman for API testing Working knowledge on Microsoft SQL Server Understanding of web-based user interfaces and verification techniques Ability to analyse and document business, system, and testing requirements Hands-on experience with JIRA Ability to perform complex technical test activities and problem solving Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills Experience testing complex integrations with 3rd party systems Proven ability to work to deadlines Experience working in an agile environment Ability to work in a fast-paced customer-centric environment and deliver immediate value Prepared to support the establishment of new processes within the QA and development team Bonus Points Experience testing hardware solutions Background and experience in Test Automation Working knowledge of Networking ISTQB certification or equivalent Experience using TestRail What's in it for you Eastern Suburbs location - work close to home An organisation that thrives on technology and innovation Cutting edge software development tools and training Friendly, collaborative team Opportunities for advancement Genuinely interesting, high profile projects Flexible working options We are a 4 day working week organisation and have been for over 2 years now.
