PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The Senior Technology Consultant (Test Management) will be responsible for the formulation and execution of testing approaches for SAP implementations and upgrades and for continuous improvements to existing testing programs/methodologies. The consultant will present the testing strategy and recommendations based on the customer requirements and capabilities using proven testing methodologies and best practices. The test approach will focus on the whole Software Delivery Life Cycle and cover both functional and performance testing. The consultant will also be contributing to the SAP testing services pipeline by seeking addition business opportunities and by supporting business development personnel with demonstrations, track sessions, and other pre/post-sales support activities.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Minimum of Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline is required.
Strong knowledge and understanding ofSDLC, variousQA and Testing methodologies.
Strong knowledge and understanding ofSAP Applications and Technologies
Basic knowledge and understanding of server hardware infrastructures.
Basic knowledge and understanding with EDI, ALE, and Middleware applications.
Good knowledge and understanding of test automation.
Experience with Micro Focus (also formerly known as HP) Test Suite - ALM/Quality Center, UFT/QTP, LoadRunner/Performance Center, or other comparable testing tools is a plus.
Experience with SAP Solution Manager and/or CBTA is a plus.
ISTQB/ITIL certifications are a plus.
Must be fluent in English (verbal & written)
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Independently deliver testing strategy engagements, which will lead to subsequent testing services engagements.
Presenting testing solutions and recommendations, such as COE's, around SDLC and multiple release activities.
Independently deliver successful service engagements, which include but not limited to the following:
Test planning and test case creation, maintenance and execution
Functional test automation
Performance testing
Installation and support of testing tools
Project management & governance
Effectively lead project teams consisting of SAP consultants, delivery partners, and/or customer resources. These teams will also consist of onsite and remote resources.
Effectively communicate with client leadership on testing approaches, best practices, project risks, and recommendations.
Assist in the development of the overall project plan (scoping process) as well as individual work plans.
Maintain test requirements, test scripts, test status, and defects.
Analyze and map clients' business requirements, processes, and objectives.
Become the trusted advisor for customers and continue credible business partnerships.
Collaborate with SAP management and partners on project/program leadership activities.
Proactively support with the creation of Testing Services collateral and content while leveraging repeatable processes. These assets could then be used towards the development of new products and Testing Solution delivery packages.
Assist in internal business development initiatives - responses to RFPs, SOWs, track sessions, conference booth support, etc.
Support the pre-sales processes by assisting the testing practice managers and sales account managers in client presentations, visits and conferences.
Support the creation of technical sales proposals
Support the creation of practice related tools & content for knowledge base.
Maintain a high degree of knowledge & understanding of SAP's products & sales processes
WORK EXPERIENCE
Over 5 years of consulting experience.
Over 2 years of management experience to deliver project initiatives around cost, time, and resources.
2 years + of practical experience with SAP applications, especially during project implementations.
Over 2 years of practical experience with QA methodologies and testing tools.
Experience with an industry vertical - Financial Services, Government/Public Sector, Manufacturing, Retail and Distribution, Utilities, Pharmaceuticals, and Technologies.
