The Role The acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is an historic and transformative endeavour for Australia.
The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia's economic and national security landscape for decades to come.
The Project Scheduler will apply project scheduling and data management skills to assist in managing the program schedule.
They will provide planning, scheduling and technical advice to support the delivery of the SSN-AUKUS Phase 3 program.   Develop, coordinate, update and maintain project schedules and baselines.
Assess / evaluate information and processes for compliance with extant legislation, policy, contracts, agreements and recommend action.
Monitor critical path deliverables, and assist SMEs with schedule narratives and progress status, and provide well-justified explanations.
Monitor and control all activities through the planning and execution phase.
Collaborate with Australian Submarine Agency (ASA) and industry stakeholders to accurately develop and maintain schedules.
Provide regular schedule performance reports, analysis and advice to stakeholders.
Ensure integrity of data in the schedule and integration with the master program schedule.
Maintain key milestones and identify any schedule risks in achieving these milestones About our Team Sovereign Submarine Program Delivery Branch (SSPD) is accountable for identifying, in consultation with Australia's AUKUS partners, the most appropriate program delivery model and construction methodology, defining the infrastructure requirements, analysing and modelling the existing Australian industry and workforce capability and capacity, and undertaking the cost estimation of acquiring and sustaining the future Nuclear Power Submarine fleet.  SSPD consists of the following directorates, Business and Operations, Build Test and Evaluation, Commercial Management, Engineering and Ship Yard Infrastructure.
The SSPD project management team provides governance and assurance of the scope, cost, schedule, earned value management and risk to holistically understand, synthesise and report exceptions for management action. The team provides analysis and recommendations to senior management relation scope, schedule, cost and risk to facilitate timely and informed decision making.

Our ideal candidates will bring the following attributes and skills to the role: Complex planning and scheduling experience on large projects; Coordinate project performance and identify schedule risk; Build and sustain effective relationships with stakeholders, including the ability to provide constructive feedback and recommend solutions; Assist with solving very complex scheduling issues, including with detailed or sensitive projects, that impact on strategic, political or operational outcomes for Defence; Work within set timeframes to deliver on time and to the required quality; Undertake a Project Control function; Proven analytical problem solving skills relating to costs and scheduling performance and reporting; Identifying relevant stakeholders' expectations and concerns and managing accordingly; Exercising a considerable degree of independence; Government decision-making processes; and Developing, implementing and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures related to scheduling SSPD's portfolio of work.
