About The Project
John Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.
Your Role
As a Senior Safety Advisor, you will:

Monitor and support the safety function of the project to provide support and coordination of safety practices, systems and procedures on the Gold Coast Light Rail project team.
Guide and support the Construction Team to develop and implement a safety culture that aligns to the company vision, including adequate development and training in safety critical roles.
Ensure the projects maintains robust risk management processes, capability, focus, and discipline related to safety.
Investigate all causes of events on site and recommend actions to prevent future occurrences.
Provide specialist support to internal stakeholders including operational leaders, project employees, contractors, clients, and visitors.
Ensure the project understands and has the tools to meet their regulatory and legal safety obligations.
Maintain comprehensive safety records, manage statutory reporting requirements, and monitor safety performance progress.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory, and company safety requirements, ensuring workplaces are informed of relevant changes.

About You
Advanced Diploma Safety in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
Safety Lead Auditor Qualification.
Construction Tier 1 experience (5+ years).
Audit management practices (2-3 years).
Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects.
Knowledge of Safety legislation and statutes (especially those relating to Comcare), and ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to the Project.
Knowledge of Environmental legislation and statutes, and ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to the Project.
