The Project The Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture is a 50/50 joint venture between CPB Contractors and Downer to undertake major upgrades and replacement of existing infrastructure and facilities to support Defence capability for the next 30 years.
The proposed project consists of a program of works across three Department of Defence establishments including:
Albury Wodonga Military Area (including North, South & East Bandiana, Latchford Barracks, Wirlinga) Blamey Barracks (Kapooka) RAAF Base Wagga The proposed capital investment of $1.7b will incorporate a variety of elements including:
Construction of new messing and living in accommodation Construction of new training facilities Refurbishment and upgrading of existing buildings Remedial works and upgrades to infrastructure services Reporting to the Safety Manager The Senior Safety Advisor will support the project in achieving optimum safety outcomes. This opportunity will allow you to demonstrate your previous success and knowledge gained from a successful health and safety career, whilst supporting staff and subcontractors to achieve best possible outcomes.
Our minimum requirements for this role are: Experience working on construction projects in a safety related position High level of skill in conducting and interpreting audits and reviews WHS Qualifications High level of skill and experience in developing, analysing and reporting on complex project performance Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills Capability and experience in delivering training in high risk activities such as working at heights, confined space and rescue training The ability to engage with subcontractors, and to communicate with people at all levels to ensure safety and compliance in relation to CPB Contractors requirements. Completion of an applicable course from the Institute of Applied Technology – Construction will be highly regarded. This role is locally based and for those outside of Albury/Wodonga/Wagga areas, relocation is required. An attractive relocation package that includes removalist cost and a LAFHA (for eligible individuals) will be made available to the successful applicant.
