St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney is actively seeking qualified and experienced Registered Nurses to join our friendly and supportive team on Level 6 which is a busy 36 bed Medical/Surgical ward with a cardiac and general medical/surgical case mix.

These are permanent full time and part time positions where successful applicants will be expected to be able to coordinate the patient journey and ensure safe and effective clinical practice.

Responsibilities will include:

To ensure the clinical care of patients at SVPHS is provided in a patent – centred care manner, within the philosophy, mission and values of St. Vincent’s private Hospital Sydney.

To assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate the care delivery needs of each patient’s individual needs.

Willingness to act as a mentor/preceptor to new and less experience staff.

To complete patient risk assessments within timeframe and with any changes in condition as per hospital policy.

The Skills and Experience Required

Tertiary post graduate qualifications in Nursing specialty (or working towards).

Registered with AHPRA and endorsed by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.

Minimum of 5 years’ clinical experience in the nursing specialty.

Previous experience in similar senior roles.

Demonstrated evidence of integrated clinical knowledge and skills, critical thinking and analysis in daily practices.

Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team.

Computer literacy in MS Word/Excel.

Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads with in a complex environment.

Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.

Essential requirements

In accordance with guidelines set by NSW Health, all SVPHS employees are required to have up to date vaccinations before commencement. It is encouraged that you ensure your vaccinations are current ahead of time as you may be requested to provide documentation at interview stage.

A National Criminal History Check will be conducted as part of the selection process.
