Senior Project Officer / Lived Experience AdvisorThe Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. It's all part of the way we partner with the community to help every individual lead a healthy life.About the role:The Senior Project Officer/Lived Experience Advisor works as a member of the Mental Health Improvement Program within the Clinical Practice Leadership Unit and has responsibility for delivering large-scale mental health reform initiatives for the State as part of a dedicated team. The initiatives respond initially to the priorities identified by the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System and utilise the model for improvement and other evidence-based change methodologies to improve the quality of treatment, experiences and support for Victoria's delivering and receiving mental health and wellbeing care.The Senior Project Officer/Lived Experience advisor brings their lived experience perspective to the role. This position ensures the views of consumers/carers are central to the design and delivery of the Mental Health Improvement Program's large-scale reform initiatives. Utilising skills in project management and stakeholder engagement, the role contributes to working closely with mental health and wellbeing services and other relevant partners to implement improvement initiatives. Tertiary qualification in a relevant health, mental health, public health/policy and/or experience working in the health sector, particularly Mental Health, would be highly regarded.Specialist Expertise - Experience working with this lived experience expertise in roles which represent the consumer/carer perspective to inform improvement is required. Project management expertise and stakeholder engagement within quality improvement initiatives is desirable.
