Senior Project Engineer - Process Plant & Production InfrastructureThe Eva Copper Mine (ECM) is located in North West Queensland approximately 75km north-west of Cloncurry. The greenfield Eva Copper Mine Project is a significant and strategically important project for Harmony Gold Mining Company Pty Ltd. The Project will be the largest mining operation in North West Queensland with a minimum mine life of 15 years, and will involve mining multiple open cut pits providing copper bearing ore to a concentrator. The project is permitted, and the mine site will include development of these pits, a copper concentrator, associated processing and non-processing services and infrastructure including tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, water management facilities, power generation and an accommodation village.
Harmony is currently preparing to progress the Execution Phase of the Eva Copper Mine Project in support of achieving near term 1st production and are seeking highly motivated and experienced people to join our growing project delivery and operations teams. The Execution Phase will commence with front-end engineering and design, and in parallel preliminary site works will also be progressed. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of defining, building and operating a major forward-facing metal mining operation that will offer employment opportunities across the project life cycle, from project definition and delivery into operations.
Reporting to the Area PM - Process Plant & Production Infrastructure, the Senior Project Engineer - Process Plant & Production Infrastructure will coordinate the safe, timely and cost-effective delivery of the Eva Copper Mine Project process plant and associated production infrastructure facilities.
Responsibilities include: Initially, you will focus on the coordination, interface management and successful delivery of the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) package. This phase is critical as it sets the control budget, schedule, and execution plan for the subsequent project delivery under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) model.Additionally, you will manage several Owner supplied long-lead equipment packages that will be procured during the FEED phase.As the project progresses to the EPC phase, your main responsibility will be ensuring the Contractor is set up for success. You will oversee that the Contractor delivers in accordance with the plans and control baselines established during the FEED phase.What you will bring to Harmony: At least 7 years of project delivery experience within the minerals processing industry.Bachelor of Engineering.Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively and proactively manage interfaces within a multi-disciplinary team.Excellent written and oral communication skills including a positive, can-do attitude, and well-developed negotiation skills.Ability to work within a team as well as being a confident self-starter who can work with limited direct supervision.Excellent problem solver and lateral thinker, and ability to, at times, work to extremely tight timelines.Location:
This role will be based at our Brisbane project office during the project design phase with travel to site as required. The role may be required to transition to site once construction commences, with the option of residential in Cloncurry or FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville.
This is a maximum term role aligned with the project completion and close out, anticipated to be 31 December 2027.
