The QFD provides a multi-hazard emergency response, including road crash rescue, bushfire, hazardous material, technical and vertical rescue, severe weather incidents, remote and swiftwater rescue, and supports community safety outcomes.The department encompasses Queensland Fire and Rescue (QFR), Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ), as well as the broader department which work together to pre-empt, prevent, mitigate and manage the consequences of fires and other emergencies on Queensland communities and support our large volunteer membership across the state.The QFD is focused on reframing the department's relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and organisations through the Path to Treaty, Closing the Gap and building our cultural capability.Purpose of the roleWorkforce Development engages with our people, to provide support for individual and collective capability development in the areas of leadership and professional development, fairness, equity and inclusion. This encompasses the development of policies, strategies and programs that support our people to manage, embrace and enhance workforce performance.Reporting to the Executive Manager, you will be a key member of the team contributing to the development, review and implementation of innovative technology solutions, policies, contemporary leadership programs, and management and inclusion products that support individual and collective capabilities through workforce development initiatives and programs.Your key accountabilitiesYour part in the ongoing success of our department, in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including, but not limited to:Contribute to the design, implementation and support of best practice approaches, frameworks and guidelines for workforce life cycle development initiatives and solutions.Develop, research and analyse the design and delivery of contemporary leadership and professional development programs and learning items to support the development of an engaged and productive workforce.Coordinate, deliver and maintain records relating to workforce development programs, activities and initiatives to ensure efficient and effective program outcomes, and governance, measurement and reporting requirements.Undertake high-level research and provide advice on key issues and trends that support human capital capability requirements and ensure effective decision-making processes.Develop and maintain effective networks and work with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve the defined and desired strategic outcomes of unit activities.Undertake research, preparation and review of reports, briefs, submissions and other correspondence relating to leadership programs and initiatives in accordance with departmental requirements and governance.Develop, deliver and provide advice on key communication and information resources and materials to support the effective delivery of workforce development programs.Identify and provide appropriate workforce development information and analysis to assist organisational stakeholders to monitor and report on compliance with whole-of-government workforce strategies and programs.CapabilitiesTo determine your suitability for the role, you will be assessed on the following Leadership Competencies for Queensland behavioural profiles that link to the "key accountabilities" for this role:Leadership Competency Stream – Individual Contributor (leading self)VisionLeads strategicallyStimulates ideas and innovationResultsDrive accountability and outcomesAccountabilityFosters healthy and inclusive workplacesDemonstrates sound governanceOnce you join us we will want you to exemplify the QFD shared values:RespectIntegrityTrustCourageLoyaltyHow to applyPlease refer to the QFD Public Service Application Guide (All PS Classifications/Streams and Senior Officer) for information on how to apply for this role and contact us to discuss any reasonable adjustments if required.
