How will I help?
As the Senior Product Owner, you will ensure the success of The Westpac Group's Non-Rewards Credit Card products. Your role involves identifying market demands, shaping the product vision, and collaborating with various teams to bring this vision to fruition. A thorough understanding of the financial market, customer needs, and competitive landscape is essential.
You will support the Credit Cards Line of Business team in managing the Credit Card product suite to meet customer expectations, achieve revenue and return targets, and remain competitive in the market. Your success will be measured by meeting financial targets across the product's P&L, with a focus on sales, balances, attrition, IBB, and fee income.
Key responsibilities
Identifies key competitors, remains abreast of the latest industry trends and technology, consumer trends, and opportunities for product innovation and improvement, addressing potential risks and business challenges. Analyzes market, develops strategies, and defines product objectives across the value chain. Develops product policies and pricing strategies, translating those strategies into detailed requirements. Design & develop the product, leveraging research, analysis and customer feedback to suggest new product development and refinements for existing products. Analysis of key data points (like churn rate, IBB, sales, NCL, acquisition metrics, revenue) to understand trends, and determine activities to address these. Taking care of high-priority problems by collaborating with others and validating options with customers through hypothesis testing. Working with commercial teams on financial business cases, considering costs and pricing based on the customer's perceived value.
What do I need?
Be able to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, effectively influencing and working closely with them to determine acceptable solutions. Comfortable with ambiguity and able to deliver outcomes in an uncertain and rapidly changing business environment. Well-developed leadership skills, and an ability to lead by example and influence. Must have strong knowledge of the Australian consumer credit market, products, processes, and regulatory frameworks. Product P&L management, with end-to-end product ownership, & experience deriving insights to determine business planning. Extensive product management experience, ideally within the Australian payments/consumer banking sector - ("Big 4" highly regarded), payment schemes, or credit agencies.
