About your role We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our Watercare team on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract, based in Melbourne or Sydney, due to internal progression and movement.
The role involves designing, commissioning, and operating Water Treatment Plants (WTP), chemical dosing systems, and other processes in the chemical industry.
The Senior Process Engineer will also develop and review bids, proposals, and concept designs for Water Treatment Plant construction and operation.
Your responsibilities Develop process design, commissioning, and other engineering duties, including: Developing PFDs and P&IDs Performing detailed process design calculations such as equipment sizing, mass balance, and equipment selection Completing process documentation like datasheets, functional descriptions, equipment lists, and manuals Acting as Lead Process Engineer for projects Managing commissioning as a Commissioning Manager Participating in project cost estimation, concept design, and technical proposals Providing technical support to customers assessing Ixom's technology packages Participating in safety audits and hazard studies, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards Being the responsible process engineer for various Watercare plants Collaborating with team members to meet project schedules and budgets Qualifications and experience include tertiary qualification in Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering, experience with membranes and desalination, process design and commissioning of WTPs, and strong communication and relationship-building skills.
RPEQ/Chartered status or ability to obtain within a year is required.
Knowledge of membrane projection software is preferable.
