The Opportunity
At APA, our purpose is simple: to strengthen communities through responsible energy. We have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Process Engineer to join our Engineering and Planning team in Brisbane on a 24 month fixed term contract.
Reporting to the Team Lead Process Safety Improvement, you will ensure the accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement of APA's process safety information systems as part of the Process Safety Improvement Team.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure work integrates with business and technical direction.
Provide technical expertise in process and control engineering.
Assist in developing and implementing improvements to process, control, and information systems.
Evaluate and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of P&IDs and other process discipline documents (such as Cause and Effects), while also providing the necessary RPEQ sign-off.
Managing and mentoring junior engineers and interns aligned with the competency framework.
About You
Tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering.
Chartered and Registered Professional Engineer (CPEng and RPEQ).
Extensive experience in Oil and gas industry.
Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Experience with control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA) and Functional Safety Engineering certificate (TUV/CFSP/CFSE) – highly regarded.
