Lead and innovate as a Senior Primary Engineer (Power Transformers) in our Asset Management team.
You will play an instrumental role in driving forward our strategic initiatives related to power and instrument transformers.
Drive the future of energy and support the transformation of the energy sector by providing expert input on power transformers.
Your expertise will be critical in managing and optimising our asset portfolio, ensuring we meet both current and future energy demands.
With a 3/2 hybrid split (3 days in the office, 2 days WFH), this role is based in Freshwater Place and is part of the Asset Management Team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
Deliver expert guidance on asset management for transmission lines and structural integrity.
Lead the technical expertise associated with power and instrument transformers, covering all voltage levels.
Support asset management and replacement initiatives across the network.
Assess and review the condition and performance of power and instrument transformers.
Investigate equipment failures, draft detailed reports, and analyse underlying problems.
Approve and review technical documentation for transformer-related projects.
Provide critical support for emergency response events as required by the team.
You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
Degree in Engineering with a solid technical background in related fields.
Significant proven engineering or asset management experience, preferably in a similar role.
Strong commitment to safety outcomes and best practices in engineering projects.
In-depth knowledge of distribution system components and transformer technologies.
Analytical skills for leveraging data-driven insights to optimize asset performance.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
Ability to lead and coordinate thorough investigations of failure and incident cases.
