Working in the Offsets Fund Management team, you will help identify, procure and deliver environmental offsets funded by the Queensland Government's Offset Account in accordance with the Environmental Offsets Act 2014.Your work will focus on assisting with the development of environmental offset proposals and offset assessment and measurement methods to support the procurement and delivery of environmental offsets and may include leading less complex offset projects. You will be responsible for assisting with contracting the delivery of offsets within the pool of funds available in the Offset Account, managing milestone payments, and communicating offset requirements and outcomes to a range of stakeholders using a variety of communication tools.Your role will also include providing advice and support to the Offsets Project Management Committee and other groups or committees as required.As the Senior Policy Officer you will:Assist in identifying potential offset activities through engagement with environmental specialists and evaluate environmental offset proposals based on their advice.Assist in the provision of technical advice on the preparation of contracts, assist with procurement processes, manage tenders and contract milestone payments for approved offset proposals.Prepare documents, reports and project updates to keep committee members and senior management informed of changes in the status of offset projects.Support the functioning of the Offsets Project Management Committee and other committees and working groups, providing secretariat support when required.Provide policy and technical support to internal and external stakeholders, respond to public enquiries, prepare reports, correspondence and briefings.Assist in ensuring the accurate recording of financial offset details in the Government's offsets register.Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
