Senior Policy Adviser, Performance & Commissioning The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians.
We're focused on supporting Victorians to be as healthy as they can; whether through alerting them to seasonal risks like thunderstorm asthma, notifying them of contact with communicable diseases, safeguarding their drinking water, developing the best health, wellbeing and care facilities in the world, being at the forefront of mental health and wellbeing treatment or accelerating medical research.

Working within a team supporting the Manager, Aged Care Assessment and Transition Care Program, the Senior Policy Adviser will contribute to a range of complex policy and programs in relation to aged care, aged care reform and health interface.

To be successful in this role, you will be a high performing team member with strong policy development and systems thinking skills; complemented by superior communication, problem solving, and project management capabilities.
You will also have the ability to work flexibly to respond to a range of emerging issues and evolving priorities.

Written Communication: Prepares briefs, letters, emails, PowerPoint presentations and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language; ensures written communications contain necessary information to achieve their purpose; uses appropriate style and formats.
Teamwork: Cooperates and works well with others in pursuit of team goals, collaborates and shares information, shows consideration, concern and respect for others feelings and ideas, accommodates and works well with the different working styles of others, encourages resolution of conflict within the group.

Qualifications / Specialist Expertise
Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in a field related to health, disability, health administration, public policy would be desirable.
Specialist Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in aged care sectors in Victoria and/or the Commonwealth would be advantageous.
