Senior Payroll Officer l Hunter St. Hospitality & Pacific ConceptsWe are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Senior Payroll Officer to join our HR & Payroll team. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a dynamic team while overseeing end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring compliance, and supporting key projects.About the Role:As a Senior Payroll Officer, you'll play a crucial role in managing the payroll function for our diverse business. Based in our Head Office in The Rocks, Sydney, this full-time permanent position is hands-on, providing you with the opportunity to lead payroll processing (Monday-Wednesday) while also supporting the Payroll Manager with complex reporting and compliance tasks (Thursday-Friday).Key Responsibilities:Lead End-to-End Payroll Processing: Manage high-volume weekly payroll runs, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.Compliance & Reporting: Oversee payroll tax, superannuation processes, STP2 & STO reporting, and end-of-month procedures.Team Leadership: Guide and support the payroll team to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.Project Work: Assist the Payroll Manager with ongoing payroll projects and enhancements.Payroll Reports & Reconciliation: Prepare monthly payroll reports and assist with end-of-year processing and reconciliation.Stakeholder Management: Respond to internal and external payroll queries, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and professionally.What We Offer:Competitive Remuneration: We value your expertise and offer a competitive remuneration package.Career Development: Access to ongoing training, career progression opportunities, and on-the-job coaching.Employee Benefits: 25% discount at 45+ Restaurants, fitness membership discounts, and more!Prime Location: Head Office located in the heart of The Rocks, Sydney.About You:You're a highly organised, proactive team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of payroll systems, and the ability to manage complex payroll tasks with ease. You're also eager to take the lead on process improvements and contribute to the overall success of the payroll function.To be successful in this role, you will have:A minimum of 5 years' experience in payroll, with expertise in end-to-end payroll processing, payroll tax, superannuation, STP2 & STO reporting, and end-of-month procedures.Essential: Hands-on experience with iChris21/iChris payroll system.Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).Exceptional attention to detail and strong customer service skills.Strong organisational and time management skills to manage a high-volume weekly pay run.Knowledge of payroll legislation across Australia and familiarity with the Hospitality Industry General Award or Restaurant Industry Award (highly beneficial).Experience with monthly payroll reports, end-of-year reconciliation, and tax compliance.A proactive approach to resolving payroll queries and improving processes.
