The opportunity Our VIC Water team is currently looking to hire a Senior or Associate Hydrogeologist.
You will be based in our Melbourne CBD office, with the option to work from home 2-3 days per week (if desired).
Our hydrogeologists apply scientific knowledge and analysis to understand groundwater-related issues, including assessing the quantity and quality of groundwater through data gathering, interpretation, conceptualisation and modelling.
Some of the projects you may be involved in include Oil & Gas, Site Closure and Infrastructure.
Recent projects include:
Clean up so far as practicable reporting to achieve regulatory closure at a former manufacturing siteGroundwater inflow assessment for the design of major underground road tunnelling projectsGroundwater pumping tests to assess groundwater availability for ecological benefitImplementation of phytoremediation to remediate PFAS impactsConceptualisation, modelling and groundwater impact characterisation at a refineryWhat you'll do Undertake/lead hydrogeological investigations and assessmentsSite investigation planning and coordinationAnalyse and interpret hydrogeological dataPrepare technical reportsProvide specialist hydrogeological adviceMentor junior hydrogeologists and foster a culture of continuous learningDevelop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholdersAbout you You're likely to have 5-10 years of experience in hydrogeology within an engineering or environmental consultancy.
You will also bring:
Proven track record of leading successful hydrogeological projectsStrong commitment to SHEQ, mental health and developing a safe workspace for everyoneExceptional communication (written and verbal)Developing leadership skills and experience in managing project teamsExperience with industry software packages, such as Esdat, Aquachem, Aquasolve, GIS, Surfer etc.
will be highly regardedBachelor's degree in Geology, Geosciences, Environmental Science/engineering, or a related fieldYou will be joining a dedicated team of hydrogeologists in VIC whilst being connected to hydrogeologists throughout Australia and across our global offices.
