Working in partnership with local management, the position advises on and promotes training and assessment within a customised delivery schedule. The position coordinates the induction of all new SOG staff by providing advice, mentoring, on-the-job training/experience and ensuring essential competency standards are met whilst maintaining up to date training records.The position plays an active role in conducting, evaluating and reviewing emergency response drills and exercises for custodial facilities across the State. The role ensures quality and compliance of service delivery, by providing advice and assistance in the area of training packages and competency-based training and assessment to local management.About youIdeal candidates would be experienced officers that have a demonstrated ability to:Play a leading role in the planning and conduct of training and emergency management exercises at correctional facilities across the State.Deliver information to large and small groups in adult learning environments.Provide honest feedback to individuals whilst providing encouragement to improve their overall knowledge and skills.Have proven experience in writing training support materials to deliver approved training content and curriculums to required standards.Deliver specialist skills training in disciplines such as use of force equipment and techniques, emergency response.Possess a current Working with Children Check or be able to successfully apply for one.Be involved in specific emergency assistance for a limited time at the request of the Superintendent to assist in the management of the prison.Be willing to undertake some regional travel for high security escorts, search operations, etc.Have successfully completed the SOG Specialist Course.Hold a current Manual 'C' or Automatic 'C-A' class Motor Driver's Licence or equivalent.Possess a current valid Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) accreditation (or equivalent) with a minimum of 12 months validity remaining.Application processPlease ensure you review the attached Job Description Form (JDF) for further information about the requirements of the position.
