primarily responsible for leading, and undertaking risk, audit and assurance functions for the organisation, in conjunction with leading and mentoring a small team of dedicated and enthusiastic individuals within the Governance and Compliance team.You will be responsible for managing the risk function and frameworks for the organisation by providing specialist advice and undertaking the development, implementation, project management and reporting of activities to mitigate risks, and maintain appropriate governance processes.You will be instrumental in conducting internal audits across all business units and evaluating the internal controls to ensure organisational compliance with legislative, regulatory and contractual requirements.Essential to this role, is your ability to provide assurance to the organisation through the identification of gaps or weaknesses, the identifying and facilitating of opportunities to improve effectiveness of controls, maintaining the compliance obligations register, undertaking training for the organisation and reporting to the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee.You will be overseeing the compliance function of the organisation, including the implementation and maintenance of our compliance program, championing our GRC system and supporting the team through capacity building leadership.You will impart your expertise and knowledge to a small team of direct reports to drive success and continuous improvement throughout the business.Key accountabilities include:RiskMaintenance of the Risk Management Framework and associated tasks relating to the identification, mitigation, management and reporting of risk and compliance issues.Work with the Group Executive Team and Senior Management to identify and develop risk mitigation strategies to reduce the likelihood and impact of organisational and project risks.Act as an internal subject matter expert and develop organisational capability in the area of risk identification, classification, treatment and management, as part of BAU and projects.Collaborate with multiple stakeholders and business units to foster a team-based approach to risk management and imbed the risk management framework into key activities.Oversee the organisation's Business Continuity planning, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management, ensuring best practice documentation is in place, maintained and stress tested, in line with industry practice.Best practice sharing of key emerging trends in risk management within the sector and the broader environment.Internal AuditMaintain and continually improve the Internal Audit Framework including the Audit Charter, Register of Audit Recommendations, procedures, processes, and all associated documentation.Prepare and review the Internal Audit Plan in consultation with the CEO, the Finance Risk and Audit Committee (FRAC), Evolve Housing's Boards and Senior Executives.Develop, plan and undertake audits in accordance with the Internal Audit Plan, to identify, assess and rate areas of risks and identify process gaps, to ensure stakeholder confidence and improve business processes.Facilitate other audits related to Evolve Housing's registrations and certifications such as the Australian Service Excellence Standards and National Disability Insurance Scheme.Write and present audit reports to the CEO, the FRAC, Evolve Housing's Boards and Senior Executives, as required, outlining key risks and proposed rectification plans to improve compliance and risk management outcomes and maintain registrations and certifications.Conduct ad-hoc audits and investigations outside of the Internal Audit Plan for early identification of compliance issues, with a focus on enabling Evolve Housing to identify and address potential non-compliances early to ensure registrations and certifications are maintained.Work collaboratively with stakeholders to plan for reviews including scoping audits, developing rectification plans address and track actions, aiming to ensure actions are pragmatic and can be addressed within required timeframes.AssurancePlay a leading role in identifying controls gaps or weaknesses and evaluating controls proposed by the business to manage their key risks and meet compliance obligations.Develop governance improvement initiatives by analysing information.Develop and maintain the compliance obligations register and ensure the organisation complies with their obligations.As a trusted advisor, support the organisation's projects, to ensure the key risks and compliance obligations are identified and mitigated with effective controls.Conduct training in relation to the organisation's risk and audit programs and corporate compliance matters.Report regularly to the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee.Overseeing the Compliance FunctionProvide leadership and guidance to Evolve Housing's Compliance and Governance team, whilst coordinating and effectively supervising their activities to ensure work is completed in a timely manner.Understand Evolve Housing's regulatory, compliance and contractual reporting requirements and provide advice and support to improve regulatory, compliance and contractual reporting.Monitor regulatory change and advise and support the review of management systems to respond to changes.Monitor compliance, risk, and quality assurance policies, processes, and standards to maintain operational integrity and best practice.Benchmark and test frameworks and practices against industry standards and provide ad-hoc advice and
