Maintenance (Engineering)Government - Local (Government & Defence)The City has over $7 billion worth of water, sewerage and waste assets. The age, condition and risk profile of these assets continually change as the City grows and diversifies. The Utilities Asset Planning and Management business unit is responsible for maintaining a sustainable waste, energy, water and sewerage service for the community. Collaboratively the branch works within four streams of activity; Civil Maintenance; Mechanical, Electrical and Control Maintenance; Project Delivery and Energy Team and Asset Engineering Team.The Asset Engineering Team (AET) drives improvements to asset performance. There are 15 Asset Engineering Officers in the AET, all with diverse and complimentary backgrounds and experience. While there are Senior Asset Engineers that lead areas of functionality, referred to as the Sewer, Water and Facilities/Control Team, we operate as one team, and closely collaborate with all areas of the business. We reassemble work priorities according to business need, and to aid professional development and build business resilience we rotate people where possible. We have fun, support one another, and enjoy the challenge of finding ways to continually improve the way the city manages the assets that provide so many essential and critical services to the community.The Team is responsible for the asset management program of Water, Waste and Energy assets. In general, the team and individuals are Asset Engineers, and the primary role is to identify poor performing assets and in a proactive and timely way, work with maintenance and delivery teams to mitigate high risk failures. The continual learning and improvement approach to work is encouraged using the 'Plan - Do - Check - Act' process.We're looking for people who have:Bachelor Degree of Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent knowledge.Reliability Centre Maintenance Engineering Certification or equivalent experience.Certification of Asset Management or equivalent knowledge.5+ years Electrical or Controls Systems Engineering experience. Water industry sector experience is valuable but not essential.Excellent asset life cycle management knowledge.Worked with and is familiar with technical standards and specifications management.Sound knowledge and appreciation of safety standards and reliability maintenance practices.A team player mindset, promotes well-being, professional development and encourages a supportive and fun environment.Ability to proactively identify problems and explore issues, engage with stakeholders, use technical knowledge, and use an inquisitive mind to identify and articulate root cause.Strong ability to develop and support the development of strong justification when selecting, recommending, and actioning an outcome.The ability to develop and support the development of scope for condition assessment, minor renewals, repair, decommissioning and preventative maintenance.Previous experience in managing projects and supporting team members to meet their commitments including budget control, financial and quality reporting, contract performance management, quality assurance documentation, safety auditing and communicating outcomes.Effective communication to a broad range of stakeholders.SAP work orders management and investigative skills, use GIS, BI dashboards, and be prepared to present to management and peers to share knowledge and experience.Be part of shaping the Gold Coast's futureThe Gold Coast is inspired by lifestyle and driven by opportunity.
