About the Role: The overall purpose of the Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor position is to focus initially at least on providing leadership in developing and gaining accreditation of the Chiropractic courses at Victoria University, and to support the College Senior Leadership Team in developing the discipline of Chiropractic. Secondary roles are to lead research in areas relevant to the Chiropractic profession and/or the scholarship of teaching and learning within the College of Sport, Health and Engineering.
The Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor of Chiropractic will be expected to take on the role of Head of Chiropractic at Victoria University at least for a short term. This will include active participation in decisions relating to resource development and budgetary allocations for courses offered within the Chiropractic discipline. It will also include taking responsibility for liaising with the accrediting association, theCouncil on Chiropractic Education Australasia.The incumbent will oversee and coordinate all activities to ensure the development of the Chiropractic discipline and ongoing accreditation of all Chiropractic programs offered at Victoria University.
The successful incumbent will have obtained recognition as an authority in the discipline. They will provide leadership in developing the research and teaching profile of Chiropractic at Victoria University both internally and externally with the Chiropractic community by actively engaging with academics, governments, industry and development partners within Australia and internationally. They will be someone with energy who is innovative, progressive and collaborative in the way they work. They will be an excellent communicator who collaborates well with others across the College and the University

This is a full time continuing position (teaching and research) at Academic Level C $129,435 - $149,246, OR Academic Level D $155,850 – $171,696 plus 17% superannuation, working 36.75 (1 FTE) hours per week. Examples of duties you may perform include:
Lead and develop the Chiropractic curriculum at Victoria UniversityAssure that the delivery of the Chiropractic programs is conducted in accordance with accreditation requirements;Develop and maintain a strong collaborative network of industry contacts;Work with other staff in the College including (but not limited to) the College Senior Leadership Team and the First Year College to ensure that University policies are reflected in all relevant Chiropractic activities and thus are effectively delivered;Prepare and deliver workshops, practical classes, demonstrations, and clinical sessions (as appropriate);Initiate, develop and conduct high quality research projects in collaboration with research leaders in the University, university key industry partners and other external organizations;Develop, write and conduct research grants that attract external funding;Contribute to the academic service, collegiality and engagement, including efficient management of internal service role.What We Offer: For information on our employee benefits, flexible working, discounts in private health insurance and gym memberships and salary packaging please visit https://www.vu.edu.au/staff/benefits-services-for-staff
