An exciting opportunity exists for experienced investigators to contribute to the Queensland Corrective Services' Ethical Standards-Workplace Investigation Group, which is responsible for conducting workplace investigations into allegations of misconduct and corrupt conduct involving QCS staff.

You will be: focussed on timely and effective resolution of well-planned investigations resulting in high-quality reports meeting the requirements of legislation, policies, and procedures.committed to continuous improvement with a person-centred and trauma-informed approach to your work.Adept at building and managing ongoing working relationships with a range of stakeholders critical to the progression of an investigation.The Professional Standards and Governance Command (PSGC) ensures the community has confidence that Queensland Corrective Services (QCS), as a top-tier public safety agency, is delivering professional corrective services through a competent and confident workforce supported by strong and ethical leadership.
The purpose of PSGC is to build, drive, and maintain a mature and corruption-resistant culture that promotes disciplined ethical behaviour and professional practice through deterrence, education, and system improvements.
The Ethical Standards - Workplace Investigations Group is responsible for progressing workplace investigations in a timely, effective, and trauma-informed manner to ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to: Lead and manage workplace investigations into allegations of misconduct or corrupt conduct made against QCS staff, ensuring they are progressed to a high standard, taking into consideration applicable law, policy/practice, risk prioritisation, complexity, and appropriate timeframes with an appreciation of trauma-informed approaches.Collect, manage, and record all evidence (including physical, documentary, and verbal).Oversee and undertake interviews with witnesses and subject officer(s) regarding allegations of misconduct or corrupt conduct in line with a trauma-informed approach.Assess evidence gathered during the investigation and determine any further lines of enquiry.Prepare investigation reports documenting the investigation and provide an analysis of the material, including whether the allegation is capable of being substantiated.Build and manage ongoing working relationships with a range of stakeholders critical to the progression of the investigation and within a broader Professional Standards and Governance Command focused on a culture of continuous improvement.Maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to demonstrate continuing high-level and contemporary performance by actively participating in professional development opportunities.Promote and nurture a team culture that has good morale, values diversity, and shares knowledge and experience through informal and formal coaching and mentoring techniques.Undertake any other duties as assigned.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
