They are seeking a Senior Grid Engineer to oversee the grid integration of their expanding pipeline of projects, ensuring compliance, technical performance, and successful connection to the network.This role is pivotal for an experienced engineer looking to leverage their expertise in the grid connection of renewable energy projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, network service providers, and regulatory bodies.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the end-to-end grid connection process for utility-scale wind, solar, and BESS projects.Liaise with network service providers (NSPs), Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), and other stakeholders to secure connection agreements.Conduct power system studies, including load flow, fault level, and dynamic stability analysis, to ensure compliance with grid requirements.Provide technical input into project design, including optimisation of grid connection solutions.Prepare and review technical documentation, including GPS (Generator Performance Standards), R1 and R2 studies, and other compliance reports.Support the preparation of regulatory submissions, ensuring all grid connection activities comply with relevant standards and regulations.Collaborate with project development and construction teams to address technical challenges and optimise project outcomes.Oversee the commissioning process, including testing, performance validation, and handover to operations.Manage technical consultants and contractors involved in the grid connection process.Monitor evolving grid connection standards and participate in industry working groups to influence future regulations.Provide expert advice on grid-related risks and mitigation strategies for project feasibility and development.Support tendering processes by evaluating technical aspects of connection offers and proposals.Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance grid connection procedures and project delivery efficiency.Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and provide mentorship to junior engineers.Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; CPEng or RPEQ accreditation is highly regarded.Extensive experience (5+ years) in grid connection engineering for large-scale renewable energy projects in Australia.Strong knowledge of AEMO and NSP processes, GPS, and other compliance requirements for connecting renewable energy projects.Proficiency in power systems analysis software such as PSSE, PSCAD, PowerFactory, or similar tools.Proven track record in securing grid connection approvals for wind, solar, or BESS projects.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a focus on practical solutions.Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Australian working rights are mandatory; sponsorship is not available for this position.Benefits:Competitive salary package with performance incentives.Professional development and training opportunities.Flexible working arrangements, including the possibility of remote work.Collaborative and inclusive work culture with a focus on sustainability and innovation.Access to industry-leading tools and technologies.Interested candidates should submit:CV detailing relevant experience and achievements.Cover letter providing a list of renewable energy projects you have delivered.Contact:Ivan Pignataro | DirectorD'Arcy WeilM: 0416 507 856 E: ****** for Overseas Applicants: Australian working rights are required for this position; sponsorship is not available.
